After a big night out on the town, I wake up and I’ve got this question: Am I old? Nope. I tell myself: old is relative. After all, I’m 23. And my IV is on the way.
This summer, I spent a weekend in Sarasota with my friends. While on vacation, I aim to make the most of my time. While attempting to fit an entire vacation’s worth of fun into two days, we overdid it. We filled our Saturday morning schedule to follow a night out on Friday. Obviously, we woke up late and missed every reservation and plan we had that day. We were feeling worse than I can imagine, and I’m a nursing student. Champagne, tequila, late night tacos, beers. It was bad. Back then, I was unaware of how an IV would have offered real relief from that awful moment. If we had used an IV service, my friends and I would have made our plans. All while looking awesome, and without a trace of the previous night’s adventure.
23 and Me
When some people think of 23 years old, they’re thinking 23 years young. They’re making assumptions about how much energy I have to take on the world. I really don’t want to hear that, especially if I’m hungover. Let me compare the present day me to my five-years-ago self. Back then, I was eighteen: able to go out for the night, take it way too far, and still be alert for my 8:00 a.m. class. I was also able to do that day after day, with no real repercussions. 23 years old, and I can’t quite keep that same cadence. My tolerance for hangovers has plummeted significantly. I’m not sure exactly when it happened. But it’s definitely in the past five years. And this has become problematic for many scenarios. IVs fix this
What’s so Great About Work Life Balance?
To live means to have responsibilities. Responsible people balance their work and social live and thrive upon finding better ways to bounce back. Responsible, I know, fine. But where's the fun in that? Why should anyone deny plans for evenings that they would otherwise love to attend? Life is short!
Letting Hangovers Ruin Vacations
Bad hangovers absolutely ruin vacations. There are only three days in a long weekend, and there isn’t a moment to spare feeling awful. Imagine planning a nice morning with brunch only to wake up feeling incapable of even driving to Starbucks. Before I knew about IV treatments, this is what I did. Next time, I’m ordering an IV hangover cure.
To Age is to Become Wise
To become wise is to make choices that make life easier. I do not know all there is, but I do know that if a hangover can disappear in 30 minutes, I am taking advantage of that opportunity. Dehydration is the primary driver of hangovers. Hydrating IV skips the digestive system, going directly to the bloodstream. This replenishes depleted nutrient stores instantaneously.
